Zeak Williams

Funeral services for Zeak Lovell Williams of Hobbs, N.M., will be 11 a:m. Friday, June 27, 2008, at Pleasant Green Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell Hill officiatshy;ing, Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery.

Visitation is 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday and 8-9:30 a.m. Friday at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Mr. Williams, 89, died June 21,2008, at his residence in Hobbs, N.M. He was born July 9, 1918, in Hilly, La. He married Jimmie L. Williams on Aug. 31,1939, in Silverton, Texas.

Zeak worked for Jordan Construction over 30 years.

He enjoyed sports, gardening, puzzles and playing pool.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Lewis Williams of Hobbs, N.M. and Zeak Lovell Williams Jr. and wife Yvonne of Hobbs, NM.; a daughter, Mildred L. Brown of Hobbs, his grandchildren; Debra Williams of Hobbs, N.M., Wallace Williams and wife Carol of Rio Rancho, N.M., Theresa Shanklin and husband Nelson of Austin, Texas; Sandra Brown of Austin, Texas, Annette Stevens of Austin, Texas, Truman Brown of Hobbs, N.M., Creslin Williams of EI Paso, Texas, Jeffery Williams and wife Margie of EI Paso, Texas, Adrian Williams of EI Paso, Texas, Douglas McKee of California, Zeak L. Williams of West Virginia, Eric K Williams of West Virginia, Shawn D. Williams of Hobbs, N.M., Cedric D. Williams of Hobbs, N.M., and Nedra French of California; 22 great-grandchilshy;dren; seven great-great-grandshy;children; a brother, Arnett Williams of Hobbs, N.M.; four sisters, Vera Williams of Garland, Texas, Exer Jackson of California, Ethel Jean Hamilton of California; and special nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.

Pallbearers are his grandson, Wallace P. Williams, Truman L. Brown, Jeffery Williams, Creslin Williams, Zeak L. Williams III, Erik K Williams, Shawn D. Williams and Cedric D. Williams. Honorary pallshy;bearers are John Jordan, Terry Shanklin, Freddie Ivory, Tiwoni Shanklin, Tony Baca, Dean Allen Bell, Billy Ivory and Jos Ivory.
