Woodrow “Woody” McNabb, age 58, of Hobbs, NM, passed away Jan. 12, 2021. He was born June 23, 1962, in T or C, New Mexico, to Louie Howard McNabb and Bonnie Lee Armstrong. Woody went to school in Portales, NM. He then moved to Flagstaff, AZ and worked with his Uncle Dave at McNabb Concrete. Woody purchased his grandfather’s trucking company, McNabb Trucking, also in Flagstaff, AZ in 1982 when he was only 20 years old. He was managing and brokering over 100 trucks at the beginning of his career. The man could fix anything, he would always say that was because of growing up with trucks and equipment that weren’t always in the best condition. In 1994 he married the love of his life, Candus Tarr, at Lake Powell, Utah on the bow of his boat. In 1996 they were blessed with their son, Zachary.
In 2002 he started McNabb Partners and moved his family and his trucks to Hobbs, NM and worked with his brother, Howard, at McNabb Services.
Woody loved hunting, deep sea fishing, and traveling. Woody especially loved every year in Cabo where he was known sitting on the beach as “Mr. Woody”. He never said no to a tequila shot and he also never said no to someone asking for help. Woody was never short of spreading happiness to all he encountered. Anywhere you went, Woody made friends with anybody and everybody.
Woody will always be known as a true example of a gentleman’s gentleman.
Woody is survived by his father: Howard McNabb and wife Tammy of Seminole, TX; loving wife: Candus Annette McNabb of Hobbs; two sons, Zachary Tate McNabb of Hobbs and Quentin Robert Donahue of Tempe, AZ; two brothers, Jonathon Wesley McNabb and wife Rikki of Seminole, TX and Joshua Andrew McNabb and wife Liz of Hobbs. Other survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins.
Woody was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Lee Armstrong and his brother, Louie Howard McNabb
