Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. June 23, 2009, at Ada MemoriaI Park Cemetery in Ada, Oklahoma.
alignjustifyVisitation for Mr. Harris will be in Ada, Oklahoma., at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada from 8 - 9:30 a.m.Tuesday, June 23, 2009.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
alignjustifyMr. Harris, 89, died June 15, 2009, at Desert Gardens. He was born February 25, 1920, in Pike City; Arkansas. He married Earline Gurley Harris on March 4, 1944, in Ada, Oklahoma. Mr. Harris had lived in Hobbs, N.M., since September, 1959. He attended school in Ada, Oklahoma, and received his bachelor's degree from East Central State College. He had been employed with Halliburton Energy Services for 31 years, retiring as assistant district manager. W.L. was an expert wood craftsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and traveling. W.L. and Earline were married for 65 years. He was a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church.
alignjustifySurvivors include his wife, Earline Harris of Hobbs, N.M.; a son, James Lowell Jim Harris of Hobbs, daughter, Retta Jean Hamilton of Vancouver, Washington; a granddaughter, Lana Yvonne Carroll of Vancouver, Washington; and two great-granddaughters, Serena and Brittaney Carroll of Vancouver, Washington.
alignjustifyW.L. was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Lawrence Harris and a sister Ida Frances Ezell.
