William (Bubba) Wood, was born November 17, 1963. He passed away in Hobbs, NM on November 21, 2019.
Bubba was preceded in death by his wife Jana Wood, his mother Barbara Hill, father Cotton Wood, and his grandparents Ruby and Grady Hobbs. He is survived by one sister, Sherry Weir and husband Arnold Fariello of Coral Springs, Florida, two brothers; Jimmy Short and wife Jennifer of Katy, Texas, Larry Wood and wife Sandy of Hobbs, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
Bubba was a hardworking, fun loving man. He owned and operated A-1 Pro-Steam Inc. of Hobbs, for over 35 years, where he employed and mentored many employees over these three decades. Bubba loved hunting, fishing, friendship and fun. He had many friends, which became so wonderfully evident after his passing.
Bubba faced many health struggles during his life and he always took these challenges in stride. Even when he was in pain, he always had a smile and warm handshake for anyone he would see, regardless of what he might be going through at the time.
Bubba had an amazing impact on the lives around him. His strength and courage, after the loss of his wife Jana, left a lasting impression on all those he encountered, and he was forever grateful to those who gave so much of their time and themselves to help him during this dreadful loss.
Bubba’s family would like to thank the Hobbs Fire Department and the Hobbs Police Department for their quick response and extraordinary efforts to save him and a special thank you to the ER and ICU Teams at Lea Regional Hospital for their compassion and care.
Bubba would say to each of us today, don’t grieve for me for I am at peace and where I belong. Now get back to work!
