William Thomas

Funeral services for Bill Thomas, 74, of Hobbs, will be Thursday, May 12, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at Chapel of Hope. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 11, 8 a.m. 6 p.m. and Thursday until service time at Chapel of Hope. Bill died May 6, 2011, at his home. He was born April 2, 1937, in Flagstaff, Arizona, to John and Mary Thomas. Bill married Ruby Mapp October, 1983, in Seminole, TX. He was of the catholic faith.

Bill graduated from college in 1961. He never missed a home football or basketball game even if there was a foot of snow on the ground until he moved from Flagstaff. He had a great love of sports fishing, camping, bowling, hunting and golf, having a holeinone June 16, 2001.

Surviving Bill are his wife, Ruby Thomas of Hobbs two sons, Bob Thomas and wife Ellen of Reno, NV, and Jay Pate of Hobbs a daughter, Kathy Toburen of Elk Grove, CA three sisters, Marilyn Gomez of Flagstaff, AZ, Barbara Scott and husband Randolph of Las Cruces, NM, and Margie Hull and husband Chris of Flagstaff, AZ 9 grandchildren, 3 greatgrandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Preceding him in death are his parents and a sister.
