William Leon Self

On February 14th 2023 our beloved son William Leon Self went to be with God. William was born May 3rd 1992. He loved and lived with all of his heart. William had the most infectious smile. He was an amazing son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and best friend you could ever have. William was an organ donor, so in death he was a hero, and just as giving as he was in life. His light will forever shine on. William is survived by his Mother Jennifer Fortner, his Pops Barry Fortner, his biological Father Thomas Quintana, his NaNa Peggy Shifflett, his PaPa Bill Shifflett, his Grandpa Gary Dugan, his brothers George Sims II and wife Mycah, Nathaniel Quintana, his sisters Cassie Maxwell and husband Eric, Cammie Penick and husband John, Callie Ellison and husband Michael, Perseus Quintana, his best friends Tyler Williamson, Korey McMillian and wife Tiffany, J.C. Holman and wife Brandi, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. William will be so missed by so many. We all await the day that we will see him again.

Perhaps you aren’t ready yet to say goodbye...

Perhaps you’ve thought of things you wish you had said…

Well, so have I…

For one thing, I would have told you not to worry about me, I’m with the Lord in Heaven now, you knew that’s where I’d be.

I’m sorry that you’re feeling sad, for I am so happy now.

I’ve asked the Lord to ease the hurt, and comfort you somehow.

It’s hard at the beginning, but I know you’ll make it through. I hope it helps to know, that I’ll be waiting up here for you.
