Funeral Services for William Bill Mayo Patton, 52, of Hobbs, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013, at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Andrew Hebert officiating. Bill died February 3, 2013, in Hobbs, New Mexico. He was born May 24, 1960, in St. Paul, Minnesota. By faith, he was a Baptist and was united in Heaven with his parents, Gerald and Inez Patton.
Bill came to Hobbs in 1974. Bill loved music and sang with a beautiful baritone voice in high school with the Acappella Choir. Bill also was in track field and was a football quarterback for the Hobbs Eagles. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, growing his own vegetables and landscaping his home. His pride and joy were his kids, Chance, Fred, George and Little Man. He loved spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed golf, movies and spending time with his brother, Duane. He worked in the oilfield several years for Homco and Star Tool before finding his passion with the City of Hobbs for 23 years as the irrigation specialist.
Survivors include his brother, Duane Patton, of Hobbs aunt and uncle, James and Pat Hubbard, of Dallas, TX and numerous cousins.
