William Breckon

Funeral services for William D. Bill Breckon of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2009, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Reimers assisted by Rev. Russell Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.

Visitation is noon - 7 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. until service time Friday at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Mr. Breckon, 64, died November 4, 2009, at his home in Hobbs, New Mexico. He was born March 4, 1945, in Hobbs. He married Sylvia Hernandez Breckon on September 3, 1966, in Hobbs at Northside Baptist Church.

Bill had been employed with DCP for 35 years until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and a history buff. Bill was an avid reader and in 1977 his family was named Family of the Year at the Hobbs Public Library. Bill loved his family, especially the grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Breckon of Hobbs; two daughters, Dana Wilkinson of Hobbs, and Pamela Millard of Spring Branch, Texas; two brothers, Charles Randolph Breckon of Hobbs, and Timothy Dale Breckon of Hobbs; five grandchildren, Shelby Wilkinson of Hobbs, Samuel Wilkinson of Hobbs, Abilgail Millard of Spring Branch, Texas, Allison Millard of Spring Branch, and Amanda Millard of Spring Branch; one great-grandson expected in December, Logan Wolfe Teeter; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Thelma Breckon.
