Whitney Taylor

On Sunday, September 6, 2020, Whitney, loving wife and mother of one child, passed away at the age of 31.

Whitney was born on February 9, 1989 in Hobbs, NM to Paris Thomas. She attended New Mexico Junior College graduating with an Associates of Arts Degree and Eastern New Mexico University Portales where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. She continued her education at Eastern working on a Master’s Degree in Counseling. Whitney went on to teach school in the Hobbs Municipal District for two years. She later obtained employment with MECA Therapies until her passing.

Whitney married Vince Taylor on March 21, 2011 and they were blessed with a beautiful daughter BreAunna. She was a very sweet and giving person and loved doing arts and crafts with her daughter, niece, and nephew. Her greatest joy came from spending time with the children. Whitney had a smile that would brighten the world. She was always willing to be of help to others.

She was preceded in death by her father Steve Moore, her grandfather Benny Cox and a stepdaughter Aruianna. She is survived by her husband Vince, daughter BreAunna, mother Paris and brother Marcus.

She leaves behind a stepdaughter Tatianna, a niece Nakia and nephew Malachi as well as numerous aunts, cousins and friends.
