Virgil Wittman

Virgil Wittman, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born June 17, 1941, in Tulare, CA, to the late JB and Thelma Wittman. In January, 1960, he was united in marriage to Lawania Dobbs. They moved to Hobbs, in March of 1960. He spent his life as a heavy equipment operator in the oilfield. Virgil was a member and ordained Bishop of The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. Services will be 10:00 a.m.Monday, June 20, 2011, at Church of the Firstborn, 2022 Robert Lane, Hobbs, with Brother Sam Gilcrease officiating. Visitation will be 6 8 p.m. Sunday at Chapel of Hope which is in charge of arrangements.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 51 years, Lawania Wittman two sons and their wives, Monty and JoAnn Wittman and Darren and Roxanne Wittman one daughter and her husband, Ronnie and Angela Sutton ten grandchildren, one greatgrandchild, all of Hobbs a sister and husband, Geraldine and Ray Corter seven brothers and their wives, Ronnie and Stella Wittman, Jerry and Gloria Wittman, Bobby and Retha Wittman, Timmy Wittman, Raymond and Nellie Wittman, Benny and Sharon Wittman, Doug and Kathy Wittman and a host of relatives and friends.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents a daughter, Debbie Lynn Wittman and a grandson, Dakota Dewayne Sutton.
