Tori Kleinsteuber
Victoria Marie Tori Kleinsteuber, was born on February 19, 1996 in
Houston, Texas and passed away January 12, 2014 in Hobbs, New Mexico after a three year battle with cancer. Tori went in peace with her family and friends by her side. Memorial services are planned for 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at First United Methodist Church. Officiating the memorial service will be Pastor Darren Skinner.
Tori was the daughter of Renate GrayKleinsteuber and Mark
Kleinsteuber. Tori was preceded in death by her grandparents, Curt Julia Kleinsteuber and Edward Patrick Gray.
Survivors include her parents Renate and Mark Kleinsteuber brother Ryan M. Gray and sisterinlaw Lydia SeawellGray, nephews Hunter Patrick Gray and Easton James Gray all of Hobbs her grandmothers Martha Wilcox of Humble, Texas and Betty Gray of Westville, Oklahoma aunts and uncles Mary Wil Evans of Montgomery, Texas, Robert and Brenda Gray, Virginia Gray and Laura Lackey all of Houston, Texas, Kevin and Pam Kleinsteuber of Cedar Park Texas, Erich and Jolene Kleinsteuber of Hobbs, Chris and Tammy Kleinsteuber of New Braunfels, Texas cousins Chad Kleinsteuber of Farmington, NM, Kerri Owings of Midland, Texas, Kenny Kleinsteuber of Harlingen, Texas, Taylor EvansHernandez of The Woodlands, Texas, Stephen Kleinsteuber of Houston, Texas, Erica Kleinsteuber, Zane Kleinsteuber, and Nathan Kleinsteuber, all of Scottsdale, Arizona, Dana and Lauren Gray, Joe and Kathy Gray, and Vivian Spinks, all of Houston, Texas.
Tori was an honor graduate from Hobbs High School in October 2013. During her high school career, she was a member of the National Honor Society, a captain of the HHS Swim Dive Team, Homecoming Queen 2013, and a member of the HHS Band. Tori was the 2013 recipient of the American Cancer Society Youth Courage Award. She was a recipient of a 5000 scholarship from the MakeaWish Foundation, which she used to establish a scholarship fund for the benefit of HHS students. She was an avid Texas AM University fan and had plans to attend the university upon graduation.
Tori was proud to call Hobbs her home and believed firmly in the community, its people, and all of the strong principles upon which our citizens stand. The family would like to acknowledge the teachers, staff and student body of Hobbs High School, especially Mellony Turner and Brenda Wilson for their tremendous support of Tori during her journey these past three years. Additionally, a special thank you goes out to Coach Dean and Coach Kohrt, the staff and swim and dive team members who gave Tori the support, encouragement, and love to fight these past three years. Thanks also goes out to the staff at Star Hospice for their fine care in Toris final days. And a final thank you to the Hope Lodge of Lubbock, the doctors, nursing staff, and child life specialists at Covenant Womens and Childrens Hospital.
