Vera Bascom

Mrs. Jean Bascom, 80, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. She was born Jan. 22, 1927, in Talpa, Texas. She married Harold Hap Bascom on July 27,1946, in Big Lake, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1988.

Jean enjoyed growing tomashy;toes in her garden and arts and crafts. Her children, grandshy;children and great-grandchilshy;dren were the joys of her life.

She was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Buddy Bascom and wife Charla of Hobbs, N.M., and Steve Bascom and wife Cindy of Los Lunas, N.M.; two daughters, Linda Noyes and husband Dale of Hugoton, Kan., and Martha Swinney and husband Ken of Hobbs, N.M.; a sister, Louise Alldredge and husband Ollie of Carlsbad, Texas; 12 grandshy;children; and 16 great-grandshy;children.
