A funeral service for Velma M. Morales of Hobbs, N.M., will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Jefferson Street Church of Christ. Minister Clay Martin will officiate.
Burial will be at 5 p.m. CST Tuesday at Girard Cemetery.
Ms. Morales, 86, died June 22, 2007, in Hobbs, N.M.She was born Oct. 13, 1920, in Girard, Texas.
Velma went to San Diego, Calif., during World War II. She drilled holes in airplanes wings, one of the original Rosie the Riviter for Consolidated Aircraft and Ryan Aeronautical in San Diego. She was a member of Jefferson Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include sisters, Maggie Valentine of Lubbock, Texas, and Ethel Carr of Hobbs, N.M.; brothers, Robert Williams of Aztec, N.M., and Ed Williams of Hobbs, N.M.; stepchilden, Frank and Norma Snyder of Lee's Summit, Mo., Jim Lahey of Gaston, Ore., and Cheryl Moore of Mesa, Ariz.; and step granddaughter, Elizabeth Snyder-Rowland of Lee's Summit, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Snyder; her second husband, Bill Morales; her parents, WK. and Nancy Jane Williams; stepmother, Lillie Mae; and a brother, Ray Newel Williams.
