Cremation will take place. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Brown, 70, died July 22, 2010, at her home in Hobbs. She was born May 8, 1940, in Roy, New Mexico. She married Lesley C. Brown on September 2, 1977, in Lovington, New Mexico. He died in June, 1995.

Thelma was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Eagles Lodge until her health prevented her from participating. She was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Tonya L. Carson of Hunt, Texas grandson Chad L. Willis of Oxnard, California two sisters, Kathryn Griggs of Beulah, Colorado, and Betty Murphy of Midland, Texas three greatgrandchildren, Destiny, Makayla and Nicholas.

Thelma was preceded in death by her father, Samuel R. Wood mother Juanita Wood husband, Lesley C. Brown three sons, Wesley Lin Ashcraft, Jimmy Wayne Ashcraft and Jerry Robert Moore and granddaughter Destiny Davis.
