Teresa L. (Ternes) Morris, known as Terri by her friends and family passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from a brief illness. Terri was born September 7, 1947 in Roseburg, Oregon. She is the daughter of John and Judy Ternes, formerly of Hobbs. Terri was preceded in death by her father in 1996.
Terri married Larry Morris, a former Hobbs resident on September 24, 1968. They were living in Nederland, TX at the time of her death.
Terri enjoyed many activities and talents throughout her life. She was a member of Big Sisters while living in Des Moines, Iowa, where she was a loving mentor. She was a member of the Literary Guild, had been active in the Women's Auxiliary with the Catholic Church while living in Corpus Christi, TX, and she also held office as vice president and secretary for the Medical Secretary Association during the time she was a medical transcriptionist in Corpus Christi, TX.
Terri was a self-taught piano player, loved to write poetry, paint, and she was an excellent seamstress. She was a loving daughter, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She adored her many nieces and nephews, and enjoyed spending time with them while they were growing up. Terri is deeply loved by her family and all that knew her, and she will be dearly missed.
Terri is survived by her loving husband, Larry Morris of Nederland, TX, her mother Judy Ternes of Longmont, CO, one brother, Alex Ternes of Albuquerque, NM. One sister, Sylvia Layh, of Boulder, CO and her nieces Angela Layh of Lafayette, CO, Lisa Perreault of Aurora, CO, Melissa Ternes of London, England, and Amy Johnston of Albuquerque, NM as well as great nieces and nephews.
