Sybil Simpson

Sybil Nell Simpson passed away on November 15, 2013 at Heartland Care Center in Hobbs, New Mexico. She was born on October 15, 1924 in Chillicothe, Texas to Claude M. and Annie S. Brown. She married Edwin Wayne Simpson on November 21, 1945 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Sybil was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Waynes Morton Food business. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who always thought of her family before herself. She will always be remembered as a wonderful cook and for her many great meals shared with family and friends. Sybil was a gifted artist who painted many beautiful oil paintings. Her greatest loves were fishing, quail hunting outings with her husband, gardening, and especially time with her grandchildren.

Sybil is preceded in death by her husband Wayne, her son Michael W. Simpson, daughterinlaw Rose Simpson, one brother, and one sister.

Mrs Simpson was a member of Belvue Baptist church.

She is survived by her daughter, LaNell Himes of Hobbs Grandchildren, Carisa Miskovic and husband Slavo and their children Connor and Andrew, of Parker, Colorado Ashley Himes of Santa Barbara, California Sonny Simpson, wife Jordan, and their children Gavyn and Dylan of Hobbs Ronald Wayne Simpson and Kim Garza, their children Ciara, Avery and Tyler of Hobbs Joseph Simpson and wife Brittany and their children Asia, Jenesis, Rhemaya and Josiah of Hobbs T.O. Simpson , wife Brandi and their children Tristen and Khloe of Hobbs. She is also survived by one sister, Billie Jean McGee of Ada, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Chapel of Hope on Monday, November 18, 2013. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Chapel of Hope. Officiating will be Pastor Mike McGuire of Gentiva Hospice. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
