Shirley Ruckman

Shirley Jean Walther Ruckman passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Good Life Assisted Living in Hobbs. Shirley was born September 17, 1932, in Dallas, TX. She married Charles Scott Ruckman on June 30, 1953, in Clovis, NM. Together they raised two daughters, Marcee Ruckman Cramer of Arlington, TX, and Kristy Ruckman Snow of Hobbs.

Shirley was known for working with stained glass, which was a hobby she deeply enjoyed, together with the many road trips she and her husband took. She was also an expert knitter, played a lot of bridge over the years, and loved many pets over her lifetime.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Bonnie Walther, and by her sister, Alice June Franko.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Chuck, of Hobbs two daughters Marcee, and husband Mike, of Arlington, TX and Kristy, and her husband Marvin, of Hobbs. She is also survived by her brother Don Walther of Dallas, TX her grandchildren, Lauren Wegner, and husband Dave, of Raleigh, NC, Kasey Smith, and husband Nic, of Chanute, KS, Barrett Dow of Austin, TX, Shelley Robertson, and Jimmy, of Plains, TX, Leah Dow of Arlington, TX, and Byron Dow of Atlanta, GA. Shirley is also survived by six greatgrandchildren: Ethan, Chloe, Milo, Bianca, Austin and Owen.

Interment services will be held at a later date

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial gifts be given to ASPCA 424 E 92nd St. New York, NY 101286804 or a charity of the donors choice in Shirleys name.
