Sean Cameron Gartman was born in Tyler, Texas, on Aug. 17, 1987, to John and Sherrie Musslewhite Gartman of Athens, Texas.
He entered into the arms of Jesus on April 15, 2007, in Andrews County; Texas.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday; April 18, 2007, at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church where he was an active memshy;ber. Dr. Dean Mathis will offishy;ciate at the service.
Honors will be provided by Sean's unit of the National Guard. Burial will be at Memshy;ory Gardens Cemetery.
There will be a book to sign from noon-6 p.m. at Chapel of Hope Funshy;eral Home.
Sean attended school in Eustace, Texas, through the 10th grade. He completed his education in Hobbs and had attended New Mexico Junior College. He had been accepted to attend New Mexico Military Institute for the 2007 fall semester.
Sean had recently completed training with the New Mexico National Guard at Fort Jackson, S.C., and Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He had attained the rank of PFC. He was certified in heavy equipment operations and was employed by Sweatt Construction at the time of his death.
Sean is survived by his father and stepmother, John and Martha Gartman of the home in Hobbs; his mother, Sherrie Gartman of Athens, Texas; his paternal grandparents, Thurman and Nadyne Gartman of Hobbs; his maternal grandshy;mother; Colleen Parrott of Athens, Texas; his maternal grandfather, Fred Musslewhite of Longview, Texas; his greatshy;aunt, Ina Lou Stephens of Athens, Texas; a brother, Ricky Cummings of Hobbs; two sisshy;ters, Heather Chavez of Yuma, Ariz., and Ginny Cunningham of Lovington; his uncles, David and wife Jann Gartman of Hobbs and Dale Montgomery and wife Lisa of Tyler; Texas; and an aunt, Melynda Caudle of Austin, Texas. Sean leaves to mourn his passing 10 nieces and nephews and five cousins, as well as a host of friends and othshy;ers who loved him.
