Funeral services for Samantha Lea Sam Stephens of Monument, New Mexico, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Monument, New Mexico, with Pastor David Pate officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Hashy;ven Cemeshy;tery.
Visitation is 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Wedshy;nesday at Chapel of Hoshy;pe Funeral Home with the family in attendance from 5-7 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m.-noon ..
Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Samantha, 25, died October 4, 2008, in Waco, Texas. She was born September 4, 1983, in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Samantha was a 2002 gradushy;ate of Hobbs High School and a 2007 graduate of Wayland Baptist University. She worked as a social worker in Waco. Sam was a very good Christian and loved everyone.
Survivors include her father, Virgil W. Stephens of Monument, New Mexico, her grandshy;mother, Dorothy Stephens of Monument, New Mexico; two uncles, Jerry Stephens of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Doug Stephens and wife Tammy of Eunice, New Mexico, an aunt, Beverly Ann Long and husband Ernie of Monument, New Mexico, two special friends, Sean McVay of Waco, Texas, and Hugh Ellis of Waco, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Samantha was preceded in death by her mother, Tammy Baker; her grandfather, Henry Red Stephens in October, 2006; and an uncle, Tommy Stephens .
