Sam Bean, Jr.

Sam H. Bean Jr. of Hobbs, N.M., passed away Sept. 23, 2007, at the age of 82. He was born Jan. 24, 1925, to parents Sam H. Bean Sr. and Mary Jane Stephenson Bean in Barnhart, Texas. He graduatshy;ed from Rankin High School in Rankin, Texas. He married Virginia Lowell on May 16, 1945. They resided in Rankin where Sam worked and retired from Union Texas Petroleum in 1981. They moved to Hobbs, N.M., in 1983. They were marshy;ried for 60 years. They were members of the Jefferson Street Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Del, Dred, Kelly and Robert Lee; one sister, Virginia; his parents; Sam Sr. and Mary Jane; and his beloved wife, Virginia.

He is survived by three sons, Sam and wife Cindy of Irving, Texas, Kenneth,. and wife Stephanie of Hobbs, N.M., and David and wife Sanne of Tomball, Texas; one daughter, Sharon Young and husband Tom of Brownfield, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandshy;children; two sisters, Cleta Beeman and husband Pete of Dallas, Texas, and Mary Yocham and husband Pat of Midland, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon in Hobbs, N.M., at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in. Mertzon, Texas.
