Ruby Hastings

Funeral services for Ruby Mae Hastings of Hobbs, N.M., will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at Chapel of Hope Funshy;eral Home with Pastor Ray Poskey officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Hashy;ven Cemeshy;tery.

Visitation is 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. Monday at Chapel of Hope and 8 a.m. until service time Tuesday.

Mrs. Hastings, 85, died April 3, 2008, at her home in Hobbs, N.M. She was born May 21, 1922, in Wetumka, Okla. She married Loren S. Hastings Sr.

Ruby's greatest joy in life was her family. She devoted her life to raising her seven children, which included triplets. She was an excellent seamstress. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Loren S. Hastings Jr. of Hobbs, N.M., Daniel E. Hastings of St. Louis, Mo., and Tony H. Hastings of Wanachee, Wash.; two daughshy;ters, Juanita Ann Lestie of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Doris E. Garrett of Oneida, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hastings was preceded in death by her parents, Everett J. and Effie Mae Garrison; her husband, Loren S. Hastings Sr.; two daughters, Mary Ellen Wells and Dorothy Elaine Seymore; and three sisshy;ters, Waunelda Roundtree, Wilma Fine and Norma Moon.
