A memorial service for Royce D. Klahr, 55, of Eunice, New Mexico, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Chapel of Hope. Mike Copeland will officiate. Cremation will be for family only.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Mr. Klahr died May 27, 2010, at his home in Eunice. He was born December 3, 1954, in Big Spring, Texas. He married Linda Fields on June 11, 1976.
Royce granduated from Eunice High School in 1973. He attended NMJC and NMSU. Royce worked for Mobil Oil for 17 years then took over his dads business, Klahr Pumping, until his death.
Royce fought a very courageous fight with cancer. The cancer was in remission for two years before it returned. He never lost courage or hope that he would win the battle. He was a No. 1 fan for Texas Tech Red Raiders. Royce request for his memorial service was that everyone attending would dress casually and as many as could, would wear Red Raider attire.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Klahr of Eunice his mother, Maryr Klahr of Eunice, a sister, Mary Ann Foster and husband Clifton of Peoria, Arizona and a niece Stacy Foster of Peoria, Arizona.
