Ross Thomas Wolfe, 89, passed away into the hands of our Lord on the morning of March 1, 2016, leaving his loved family and wife, Mayruth Wolfe of 66 years.
Ross was born to Abraham "Red" Wolfe and Mildred Lee Josin Wolfe in Pocasset, Oklahoma. After graduating from high school he joined the Navy and served during WWII - 18 months. He married Mayruth Stringfield on June 30, 1949. They have 3 children, Ramona Wolfe with Bob Vinson, Roxanne and Doug Hicks and Tom and Shelly Wolfe, 6 grandchildren; Jody, Jackie, Elizabeth, Chris, Monica and Kyle and 9 great-grandchildren; Alyssa, Emma, Nick, Luke, Trevor, Tinley, Quinlee, Lexie and Braxton.
The family has lived in Hobbs since 1962, where he worked as manager of McLellan's for 23 years and then as manager of Gibson's Discount Center for 15 years until it closed.
After retirement, they occupied their time with friends, family, traveling with his wife Mayruth by cars and cruise ships. Our dad enjoyed playing dominos, 42 and cards with his wife and friends and attending sport events with his wife. He was an avid Hobbs Eagle. But dad was best known as a great candy maker from fudge to caramels to popcorn balls.
Ross, our dad, was known as a quiet man who was a loving and giving person and the greatest husband our mother could have ever asked for.
