Rosa Martinez

Rosa Martinez peacefully passed away September 13, 2020. She was born September 4, 1957 to Maria Altagracia Contreras and Lucas Villegas. She and her brother were raised by her paternal grandmother Guadalupe Villegas in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. At a young age she attended church alongside her grandmother at the 4th Iglesia Apostólica de la Fe en Cristo Jesús in Juarez where she met the love of her life Teodoro “Pilolo” Martinez. The two fell in love and were married April 23, 1973.  Rosa and her husband of 47 years raised 6 beautiful children in Lovington, NM.  She loved her family dearly and enjoyed every moment with her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom they knew as “Nana”. She enjoyed traveling, cooking delicious meals for her family, dancing and making everyone laugh. Her presence and her contagious smile instantly filled the room with love and joy.

She is survived by her husband Teodoro Martinez, 6 children and their spouse; Mari & Ben Vasquez, Wendy & Novert Morales, Victor & Christy Martinez, Christy & Dario Martinez, Debbie & Tony Dutton, Tiffany & Israel Arenivas; 17 grandchildren and their spouses and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Manuel Villegas and his family, paternal aunt Ignacia Villegas, and maternal aunt Ruth Torres.
