Robie Holdridge

Robie Lee Holdridge, 83, passed away at his home on October 3, 2016. He was born February 2, 1933 in DeLeon, Texas to Ernest and Nancy Flora Holdridge. The Holdridge family later moved to Odessa, Texas, where Rob graduated from Odessa High School in 1951. It was there that he met his wife, Bennetta Dee Caudill. Prior to their marriage June 8, 1952, Rob joined the United States Navy. He was stationed at North Island Naval Base in Coronado, California. The couple later moved back to Odessa, where Rob began his career with the US Post Office. In 1959, they moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, where he continued with the Post Office until 1981. Rob and Bennetta then opened R & B Sales, where he enjoyed buying and selling used cars until just a few years ago.
Rob and Bennetta were blessed with two children, Michael Wayne and Leah Ann. Rob enjoyed his family, grandkids, watching American Pickers and regular trips to the casino. Rob will remain in the hearts of his son Mike Holdridge, of Lovington, and daughter, Leah Pierce, of Hobbs. He is also survived by his brothers John Holdridge and wife Selene; Roy Holdridge and wife Maxine; and sisters, Joann Smith; and Dottie Lemke and husband Clem. He will remain PawPaw Rob to his grandchildren Waylon Holdridge and wife Eva of Seminole; Coy Holdridge, Tyson Pierce and wife Brenda, of Hobbs; Masey Doss and husband Ryan of Lubbock; and Mandy Holdridge of Kingwood; and his great-grandchildren Johnathon, Bradyn and Tanner Holdridge; Haylie, Taylor and Corbin Holdridge; Conagher, McKayla, and Isabella Pierce; and Kasyn and Riley Doss. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He is going to join his wife, parents, a sister - Mickey Patton, a son-in-law - Tom Pierce, and a special friend - Joann Mahon.
Services will be at 10 am Friday, October 7, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Hobbs, with Pastor John Ayers, officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 6, from 8 am- 7pm, with family in attendance from 5-7, at Chapel of Hope. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
