Robert Roach

Funeral services for Robert Elvin Jinks Bob Roach, 91, of Hobbs, NM, will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church with Pete Crook grandsoninlaw officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Robert was born on May 13, 1922, in Field, NM, to Homer and Ina Roach. He died on June 19, 2013 in Hobbs, NM. Robert liked to rebuild cars, fish, deer hunt, watch TV, play the card game hand foot and read his Bible. Robert lived in the community since 1952, married Mary Snider on December 14, 1946, worked for Shell Oil Co. and was a lease operator for 32 years.

Mr. Roach was an active member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, and on many committees.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Roach, of Hobbs, NM two daughters, Sharon Hopper, and husband Johnnie, of Hobbs, NM, and Helen Hudson, and husband, Gene, of Hobbs, NM two granddaughters, Allison Crook, and husband, Pete, of Albuquerque, NM, and Larissa Martin, and husband, Harold, of Forney, TX two grandsons, Corey Hudson, of Visalia, CA, and Kyle Hudson of Hobbs, NM a brother, Odis Roach, of Clovis, NM two sistersinlaw, Una Roach of Clovis, NM and Eunice Roach of Clovis, NM a brotherinlaw, Leon Snider, and wife Shirley, of Big Spring, TX eight greatgrandchildren.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Taylor Memorial Baptist Church, 1700 E. Yeso, Hobbs, NM or The Gideons International.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 20, from 11:00 am 7:00 pm with family visitation from 5:00 pm 7:00 pm. Services are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
