Robert (Bob) Powers, 82 years old, of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away on November 29, 2017 in Lubbock, Texas. He married Joyce Ann (Beasley) Powers on November 1, 1956. They enjoyed 61years of marriage together.

Born in Somerville, Indiana, he was the son of Hilbert and Syble Powers.
He was employed by Mississippi Potash East Plant as a Lead Man in the refinery. After 33 years at Mississippi Potash, he retired in 2001.

He was a member of Northern Heights Baptist Church, where he faithfully served his Lord by preparing the building for services each week. He loved his Lord and served him in many ways. He enjoyed going camping, fishing, working on cars, watching NASCAR racing, and old western movies. He will be remembered for his beautiful hair, his big smile, his unwavering faithfulness, his love for his bride, and his family. He served in the United States Army from 1954 until 1957.

Bob is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann (Beasley) Powers, his daughter Shelby Vaughan and husband Gavin II of Artesia, New Mexico, his son Doug Powers and wife Maxine of Hobbs, New Mexico, and his son Gary Powers and wife Angie of Chandler, Texas; grandchildren Cody Jones and wife Lynsey, Jennifer Polly and husband Scott, Daniel Powers and wife Hannah, Chelsae Haines and husband Matt, Hannah Price, Channing Travis and husband Herbie, Mason Powers, Chase Powers, Taylor Starr, Jacob Starr, and Austin Powers; and great grandchildren Reagan Haines, Jagger Price, Kaiden Polly, Kennedy Haines, Sydney Jones and Braylen Powers; and his Happy Dog. He was predeceased by infant son, Joey Arnold Powers, his parents Hilbert and Syble Powers, his sister Jan Johnston, brother in law Don Johnston, and parents in law Melvin and Velvia Beasley.
