Robert M.Bob Henderson was born to Morris and Ruberta Henderson on March 30, 1956 in Graham,Texas. Bob was raised in Crane, Texas and graduated from Crane High School in 1974.
Bob began his career in the oil and gas industry in 1975 as an employee of EI Paso Natural Gas in their gas processing facility located in Goldsmith, Texas. Bob worked for EI Paso Natural Gas for five years, living in Coyanosa, Texas, Monument, New Mexico and Spring-Lake Earth, Texas. Bob began his career with GulfChevron in 1979 as a Senior Lease Operator. He lived and worked for Chevron as a Senior Lease OperatorReid Specialist in Kermit, Texas for twenty years eventually retiring from Chevron in 2001 while living in Snyder, Texas. Bob served Chevron faithfully for 22.5 years.
Upon retirement from Chevron, Bob moved to Hobbs, New Mexico and worked as a contract pumper for a number of months until he took a permanent position as a Lease Operator with Lario Petroleum in Odessa, Texas. Bob returned to Hobbs and assumed the position of Lease Operator for Chesapeake Energy Company in 2004.
Bob took great pride in his work in the oil and gas industry receiving many commendations for his work excellence by every company that he worked for. He was highly respected by his employers and his peers for his knowledge and work ethic. Bob was exceptionally proud of the accomplishments that the Kermit Volunteer Fire Department achieved during his service to that organization. He earned certifications as an E.M.T. and a Certified Fire Fighter during his years as a valued member.
Bob deeply loved his family and the many friends he had acquired during his years in Kermit and Hobbs and spoke often of how lucky he was to have everyone of them. Bob loved to hunt, fish and play golf and especially enjoyed his golfing buddies at Hobbs Country Club and in Kermit.
Bob is survived by his eldest son, Robert M. Henderson, Jr. and his wife, Amanda of Santa Carita, California, younger son, Wade Henderson and his wife, Ashley of Odessa, Texas. His sister Rhonda Cobb and her husband, Sam D. Cobb of Hobbs, New Mexico, his nephews, Phillip and Jarred Cobb of Hobbs, niece, Maycie Cobb of Midland, Texas; aunt and uncle, Robert and Betty Henderson of Whitesboro, Texas and his girlfriend Diane Fris of Hobbs, New Mexico. His parents preceded him in death.
