Robert C. Cavner, 88, was born October 3, 1926 in Sulphur, OK to Lon and Willie Cavner. He passed away March 12, 2015 in Levelland,TX.
Robert married Margaret Daves on March 5, 1957 in Ft. Worth, TX. He was a self-employed welder. He was a lifetime member of DAV, the Moose Lodge, VFW and Legion of the Moose 211. Robert was also a member of Jefferson St. Church of Christ. He was the patriarch of the Daves family and had a hand in raising several family members. Robert was the past owner of Structure, Inc. which helped create the VLA (large radio telescope antennas). He was at one time the only certified welder in Hobbs. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
Robert is survived by his daughter Kim and husband Robert Shipman of Levelland, TX, one son; Johnny and wife Brenda Cavner of Runaway Bay, TX and his sister's-in-law; Betty Cavner of Moore, OK and Zetta and Donna Cavner of Ponca City, OK., four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Margaret, brothers; Bill, Ray and Clyde Cavner.
