She married Robert C. “Bob” Barbaree in Carlsbad, NM on October 2nd, 1949. They moved to Hobbs, NM, in the 1950s. Robbie worked for SPS (Southwestern Public Service) for 35 years before Xcel Energy bought it out. She had been a member of First Baptist Church for over 30 years. She was also a member and supporter of AARP, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Eagles Lodge, VFW, and the National Police and Troopers Association. She is survived by her sister Madeline Grube of the Houston, TX area, grandchildren: Heather Bowers of Hobbs, NM; Heather Barbaree Calderon and Wendi Barbaree of Amarillo, TX; and Jeremy Barbaree of Loganville, GA, nephew: Garry Meador of San Diego, CA, great-grandchildren: Andrew J. “A.J.” Barbaree and spouse Riley L. Her parents are Marvin Bishop and Maude May Dansby, brothers: Hodge, Clifton, Buddy, Ferrell, and Bruce, sisters: Thelma, Dorothy, and Pauline, and grandson: Christopher “Chris” Barbaree. She is also survived and preceded by other family members and numerous friends. There was hardly anybody she didn’t know from Hobbs. Robbie was an irreplaceable lady and the sweetest person you could ever meet. She will be dearly missed. The family would also like to give a special thank you to StarHospice for everything they did in her final two months, notably to both Amanda’s, Kelly, Lisa, Nancy, Pat, Rebekah, Regina, and Sam. Thank you so much from Andrew and Riley for all the help you provided us to care for her; it is deeply appreciated! Charities may be made of the family's choice, or you may send flowers to the family.
