Ro Ann Whitmore

August 9, 1935 — November 16, 2020

Ro Ann Whitmore

Ro Ann Hare Whitmore would like to let you know that she made it to Heaven on November 16, 2020, and is in the process of hugging everyone there. It’ll take awhile because she’s taking extra time with Jesus, her mom and dad, Marie and Monte Hare, her brother, Jim Hare, sister-in law Joan Hare, and many other beloved family members and friends. If you ever met her, you were beloved, so be expecting a hug.

Do not be misled by her August 9, 1935, birthdate because she was really only 39. This is an exceptional accomplishment considering she was married to Robert for more than 66 years. She had three children, Mark, Neil, and Ann Lynn, all of whom upon turning 30 became Robert’s by his first marriage. She loved their spouses, Glenda (Neil’s) and Marty (Ann Lynn’s), like her own. She valiantly endeavored to spoil her seven grandchildren and by extension their spouses- Ann Marie (John), Ben, Andy, Logan (Vicki), Montie (Johnnie), Jordan (Valerie), Michael, and Kameran (Mariah) and, by all appearances, was quite successful. She did irreparable damage on the spoiling factor with her nine great grandchildren-Jaden, Mason, Kinley, Kennedy, Mila, Dylan, Presley, and Ozzy with a special addition of Giani.

Her brother Everett Hare now gets to eat all the desserts without competition from RoAnn (Aunt Dink to his children). Growing up in Sand Springs, OK, she usually won their duels for treasured sweets by comparing whipped cream to baby calf slobbers.

Ro Ann lived an exuberant life and loved learning new things, meeting new people, other people’s cooking, and all desserts. She was always on the path of finding a good book, tending her flowers, trying to learn Spanish, and within the last 15 years immersed herself in painting. Though she never believed she was a talented artist, her paintings are incredible and treasured by all who were privileged enough to receive one.

Her faith was part of her very DNA. It was authentic, passionate, generous, and unrelenting. Her every breath was a mission and her actions followed. From working with youth groups, mentoring young moms, countless church ministries, medical missions in Mexico, to talking to people in the grocery store line she never stopped sharing her Jesus. Her only goal was to always exude His love and, as a result, every church, every person she encountered were impacted.

While we can’t celebrate her life just yet, we will soon. Ro Ann loved anything crazy social so a gathering will be planned as soon as it is allowed.
