Funeral services for Richard Pierce of Odessa, Texas, forshy;merly of Hobbs, N.M., are 3 p.m. Monday; Oct. 22, 2007, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Pastor Mick Cavanaugh officiating.

Cremation will take place at a later date.

Visitation is 8 a.m. until servshy;ice time Monday.

Mr. Pierce, 64, died Oct. 17, 2007, at Odessa Medical Center in Odessa. He was born Jan. 7, 1943, in Hobbs, N.M. He marshy;ried Diane Schnaubert.

Richard was a graduate of Hobbs High School. He worked as a butcher for 45 years, mainshy;ly working at Tootie's Grocery Store. He was a soccer and baseball coach, and enjoyed riding horses, roping and deer hunting. He was the owner of PS Pit Lining and he was an avid race car driver and mechanic.

Survivors include his mothshy;er, Anita Pierce Weaver of Hobbs, N.M.; his wife, Diane Pierce of Odessa, Texas; a son, Chad Pierce of Rio Rancho, N.M.; three daughshy;ters, Leah Pierce of Grandview, Texas, and Kim and Anita Pierce of Louisiana; two sisters, Charlotte Collins of Sundown, Texas, and Bay Kirby of Odessa, Texas; five grandchilshy;dren, Chaz Pierce of Pulaskey; Tenn., Shalest Pierce of Covington, Texas, K'Lyn Pierce of Hobbs, N.M., Ty Pierce of Hobbs, N.M., and Faith Tofoya of Rio Rancho; N.M.; and two great-grandshy;children, Cayden Bolton of Pulaskey, Tenn., and Paige Karliek of Covington, Texas.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Albert Marion Pierce, and a brother, Leroy Pierce.
