Richard Louis Lomax passed away April 14th at Lea Regional Hospital. Richard was born in Holdenville, OK on November 21, 1920. His parents were Phillip Emmette and Anna Olive Lomax. Richard was youngest of 6 children. He was raised in Henryetta, OK until he joined the Marine Corps in 1938. He served in several tours of service during the W.W. II campaign and was discharged with honors from service. In 1942 Richard married Clara M. Turner on February 24th, and moved to Hobbs, NM in 1953. He worked as an Instrument Tech for Northern Natural Gas until he retired in 1985. Richard and Clara have 6 children Jannise Rhodes of Houston TX, Nancy Shaw of Hobbs NM, Richard Rick Lomax of Murrietta CA, Phil Lomax of Albuquerque NM, Mark Lomax of Midland TX, and Melissa Mercer of Canyon TX. He also leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 19th 2 p.m. at Chapel of Hope officiated by Pastor Larry Hernandez.
Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and family time. He was also a member of several local organizations and clubs. Helping and giving his time to others was very meaningful in his life and loved his family dearly. He made a wonderful impression on many people and will be missed by all his friends and family.
