Richard Guy Dick Falk, husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather and longtime Hobbs resident passed away on December 14, 2010, at Lea Regional Hospital. Dick was born on September 2, 1926, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Guy and Ruth Jane Falk.
Funeral services are planned Monday, December 20, 2010, 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hobbs, officiated by Pastor Doug Kello and assisted by Pastor Billy Chidester. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Dick graduated from Ashland, Kentucky, High School with a football scholarship to Oklahoma A M Oklahoma State College in Stillwater. He proudly served in the United State Marine Corp during WWII in the Philippines. He met and married Jane Reeves in Pauls Vaklley, Oklahoma, on June 24, 1949. He settled in Hobbs with his family in 1957. He served First Baptist Church as a Sunday school teacher, busdriver for Jr. and Sr. high trips, and was an ordained deacon. After his retirement from Enron in 1986, where he worked for over 30 years, he began a lawn service business and drove a school bus for B G Transportation and was employed there for 20 years. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He remodeled the house, was involved with family activities and was a Mason.
Falk is survived by his wife, Jane Reeves Falk of the home two sons, Richard Guy Falk, Jr. and wife Kelleyann of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Stephen Curtis Falk and wife Wenalyn of Albuquerque, New Mexico a sister Betty Womack and husband J. C. of Pasadena, Texas six grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Falk his mother, Ruth Davis and his sister, Marjorie Koffend.
