Richard Dale Criswell, 73, passed away on December 20, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on June 6, 1951, in Crosby County, Texas, to Dewey Melvin (Cris) and Helen Jaunita (Sue) Criswell.

Richard is survived by his three sons, David Criswell (Becky), Greg Criswell (Mechelda), and Brian Criswell; his brother, Gary Criswell; two sisters, Bobbie Harlan and Jackie Miller (Alan); his grandchildren, August Voyles, Bobi Ann Criswell, Joey Criswell, Nathan Dawdy, Austin Criswell, Tyler Criswell, and Emaleigh Criswell; as well as his nephews, Michael Harlan (Kristi) and Wade Miller (Elesia); his niece, Jennifer Miller; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Jay Criswell.

Richard developed a strong work ethic early in life, starting his first job delivering newspapers for the Hobbs News Sun. He later became a skilled welder and worked in the oilfield for various companies, including offshore operations in Louisiana. After retiring in Louisiana, he remained active in the workforce, holding various jobs in Eunice before concluding his career with the City of Eunice.

A proud graduate of Eunice High School, Class of 1970, Richard was an avid supporter of the Eunice Cardinals, having played football and baseball during his school years. His passion for the program continued as he volunteered as a coach, umpire, and referee, helping shape future generations of athletes. Beyond sports, Richard was a dedicated volunteer at Guadalupe Christian Camp, always willing to lend a hand with repairs and improvements.

Richard found joy in the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying time with family. He was known for his love of a good meal, especially when surrounded by loved ones. His infectious laugh could brighten any room, bringing smiles to all who knew him.

A devoted member of the First Christian Church of Eunice, Richard lived a life of service, laughter, and love. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
