Rev. Hudson

Raymond Hart Hudson passed from this earth and into the arms of his Heavenly father on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at the age of 91 years and 11 months.

A celebration of life service will be conducted Thursday, April 1, 2010, 10 a.m. at Hobbs First Assembly of God Church, with Pastor William H. Hicks officiating and Pastor Mary Hicks assisting with burial following in the Memory Gardens Cemetery of Hobbs.

Visitation for family and friends will be at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home Wednesday from the hours of 6 p.m. 8 p.m. with the family present.

Raymond was ordained to preach the gospel of Christ June 19, 1944, by the General Council of the Assemblies of God. Pastor Hudson was pastor of several churches in Texas and New Mexico including Hobbs First Assembly of God for 9 years. Pastor Hudson initiated church loan programs while serving as church loan officer for the Assembly of God General Council. He was later elected to serve the Assembly of God General Council as General Treasurer in 1973, until retiring in 1988.

Pastor Hudson was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Onie Marie of the home brotherinlaw and sisterinlaw, Holly and Dorothy Stewart of Hobbs many nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends who all say, Thank you dear Lord for allowing this very special man to touch our lives.
