Resa Ross Pratt, 80, of Hobbs passed away June 4, 2018. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio to Thomas and Loretta (Burkett) English on August 17, 1937. When Resa was 9 years old her family moved to Odessa, Texas and later to Hobbs, New Mexico. In Hobbs, Resa attended St. Helena's Catholic School and Hobbs High School through her sophomore year. Her family then moved to Lovington where she graduated from high school in 1955. She married Robert Thomas (Bob) Ross on April 28, 1962 and they made their home in Jal, New Mexico where she worked for El Paso Natural Gas. After 26 happy years of marriage Bob preceded her in death on December 25, 1988.
Resa had the most beautiful voice and enjoyed singing with Helping Hands in Jal and later in the St. Helena's Catholic Church choir. Through the years she sang at many weddings and funerals. Resa will be remembered for her beautiful solo of "O Holy Night". Resa enjoyed watching any activities her grandchildren were in from baseball and soccer games to dance recitals and band concerts.
In 1989 Resa moved to Hobbs when she was transferred by El Paso Natural Gas to their Denver City office where she worked with Donald Hugh Pratt. Her and Don were married on June 12, 1993 and shared 25 wonderful years together. Don was a loving husband and he was right by her side holding her hand when she passed.
Resa was preceded in death by her first husband Bob, her parents, and her sister Patty Moulder. She will be lovingly remembered by her second husband Don, her sons Kevin Ross and wife Cathie, and Patrick Ross, her grandson Robert (Bob) Ross and granddaughter Sarah Ross, her sister Judie Bridges and husband Mike, nieces Luanne Martin and husband Don, Cheryl Foster and husband Steve, Angela Virden and husband Mark, nephews Lucky Moulder and wife Joanne, and Michael Reese, and several great nieces and nephews.
