Ralph was born April 1, 1942 in Socorro, N.M. He died Monday, Sept. 25, 2023 in Hobbs.
He was a graduate of Valley High School in Albuquerque and served for two years in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked for Walton Construction in Hobbs for many years followed by several years at Lea Regional Medical Center. He attended St. Helena Catholic Church.
Besides enjoying watching baseball, especially his favorite team, the Texas Rangers, or collecting his next great fortune from his pecan tree, he loved being “Chicken Butt” to his granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Anna Marie; daughter, Monica Russell and husband Daniel of Hobbs; two sons, Ralph Armijo and wife Liz of Hobbs, and Mark Armijo and wife Laura of Hobbs; sisters, Theresa Martinez and husband Jose of Albuquerque and Dee Dee Tesillo of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law Delia Perez and husband Nuni of Abilene, Connie Trujillo of Albuquerque and Francine Araujo of La Mesa; and brothers-in-law David Araujo and spouse Elsie of Albuquerque and Albert Araujo and wife Virgie of Artesia; grandchildren, Fabian, Caden, Tyler, Marissa, and Isabella; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents Max and Maria Armijo of Albuquerque; brothers Lucas Armijo, Max Armijo Jr. and Ronnie Armijo; sisters Tita Gallegos, Vangie Warren and Mary Lou Arterburn.
