Ralph Clifton Bruton, 78, of Hobbs passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 09, 2017 at his daughter's home in Lubbock, Texas after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Ralph was born on February 2, 1939 to Clifton and Flora Bruton in Fort Worth, Texas. After graduating from Texas A&M, he married Delene Bruton on June 30, 1961. They moved to Hobbs in 1973, and remained there until 2016.
Ralph enjoyed a 30 year career with Schlumberger as a Sales Engineer. In retirement, he continued working as an oil producer. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Ralph was a handy man, known for being able to fix almost anything. He loved working on his projects, as well helping others with theirs. Ralph also had a love of flying. He learned to fly in 1984, and has owned and flown various airplanes since then.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Delene and (4) children. Rochelle Drake and husband, Keith of Granbury, TX; Rhonda Thomack and husband, Ricky of Lubbock, TX; Curtis Bruton and wife, Jennifer of Frisco, TX; Clint Bruton and wife, Tammy of Portland, OR; (7) grandchildren; Pat Stubbs (sister) and husband, Burl of Amarillo, TX; and Brenda Coffey (sister) and husband David of Abilene, TX.
