Peggy Adams

March 20, 1934 — December 28, 2006


Surrounded by her family, friends and pastor, Peggy Joyce Adams went to be with our Lord at 6:50 p.m. Dec. 28, 2006.

She was born in Depew, Okla., on March 20, 1934, to Finis Coleman and Rena Estelle Bowles.

She was married to her devotshy;ed husband, Donald Adams, for 33 years.

Survivors include her husband, Donald H. Adams of Jal, N.M.; a son, Steve Meadows of Las Cruces, NM; two daughters, Jenny Herrera of Hobbs, N.M., and Rena Seay and husband Eddie of Hobbs, N.M.; four sisters, Bernice Estep of Midland, Texas; Geneva Reed of Jal, N.M., Donna Wilson and husband Kenneth of Okmulgee, Okla., and Patsy Davis and husband Don of Okmulgee, Okla., six grandchildren; three greatshy;grandchildren; three nieces; and six nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

She played basketball and softball at Depew High School and was voted prettiest legs in Creek County, Okla.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Jal and served as church treasurer for many years.

She retired from New Mexico Bank Trust after 28 years as branch manager. After retireshy;ment she volunteered and was a substitute teacher at the elementary school in Jal. She received the Outstanding Volunteer Award from Jal Schools in 2005.

She was a loyal OU Sooners fan and loved her town of Jal and was an avid supporter of the Panthers.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, CNAs and staff of Hobbs Health Care, Lea Regional Medical Center and VistaCare Family Hospice for their support, gentleness and loving care of our wife, sister, mother, grandmother and greatshy;grandmother during her courashy;geous struggle with her illness.
