Graveside services for Pete Galavez of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at Prairie Haven Cemetery. Jim Martin will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
A visitation will be from 2 - 6 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Galavez, 79, died June 11, 2009, at Good Samaritan Village in Hobbs. He was born June 7, 1930, in El Paso, Texas.
Pete served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He owned and operated Galavez Plumbing for over 25 years. Pete enjoyed spending down time in the mountains and taking the grandchildren for ice cream. He was of Catholic faith.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Galavez and wife Sharon of Hobbs; two daughters, Toni Pemberton and husband Mike of Roswell, New Mexico, and Vicki Sweeney and husband David of Roswell; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Pete was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Galavez.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
