Paulino G. Quiroz, age 92, son of Andres and Maria G. Quiroz was born in Presidio Texas on June 22, 1932. He departed this life on February 11, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. He was the pillar to his family, an unwavering strength and will be missed tremendously. Paulino was married to his wife, Elena P. Quiroz, on March 27, 1961. Together they had six children: Richard Quiroz and wife Edith Quiroz, Arthur Quiroz, Daniel Quiroz, Aurora Q. Ruiz and husband Fred Ruiz, Ana M. Quiroz and fiancé George Mendoza, Letisia P. Quiroz, and partner Margarito G. Melendez.
Paulino was a hardworking man throughout his life from Oil Field to Bus Attendant until retirement. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball with his brothers. His love for music however was his passion, whether it was listening, writing, playing, or singing. He played the guitar, accordion, harmonica, bajo sexto, and base. He also enjoyed listening to all kinds of music such as Christian music, trios, corridos, romanticas, tejano, country and soft rock. In his early years he was in a band called Conjunto Nocturnal as well as other groups. As his sons, Richard and Arthur grew older he taught them how to play musical instruments and sing. The 3 of them sang as a beautiful Trio. He would teach whoever was interested in learning music. He donated his time playing for quinceaneras, funerals, weddings and enjoyed playing with the church choir. There was never a moment you would not catch him at church or family gatherings where he was not playing his Guitar or Accordion. A time memorized by family and friends. His past time was spent with his family, and he frequently visited the senior center in Hobbs where he would conversate with friends.
He was always full of life, loved deeply, and tried not to take life so seriously, even with the harsh hands you could be dealt.
He is survived by son, Arthur Quiroz, daughters, Aurora Q. Ruiz and husband Fred Ruiz, Ana M. Quiroz and fiancé George Mendoza, and Letisia P. Quiroz and partner Margarito G. Melendez.
