Pauline Margaret Hickle was born on February 6, 1910, to Maude Primer and Bert Arthur Hickle in Hensley Township, Champaign County, Illinois. She attended Excelsior Grade School and graduated trom Mohomet High School. In September, 1929, she moved to Washington D. C. where she was employed by the Department of Commerce and the National Park Service Civilian Conservation Corps until 1936. On July 5, 1932, she married Gibbs J. Winslow who was a civiliam employee of the Navy Department. Upon his retirement in 1972, they moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, where they were active members of the Senior Center ECHO Chapter 404 of the AARP, and St. Paul's Methodist Church. She loved working in the yard and was and an enthusiastic square dancer for many years. She loved her family and kept in touch by remembering everyone's birthday.brbrFuneral services for Pauline will be held on Tuesday, January 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel of Hope. Mike Kennedy will officiate. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery after services.brbrPauline will be in state at Chapel of Hope on Monday from noon until 6 p.m. with the family in attendance from 4 - 6 p.m.brbrShe is suirvived by a son, Richard Winslow and wife, Nancy of Lander Wyoming; a daughter Barbara Gilbert and husband, John, of Hobbs; six grandchildren, Mike Gilbert and wife Karen of Hobbs, Virginia Goelz, Nancy Davis and husband, John of Shallowater, Texas, Jim Gilbert and wife, Jessica of Benbrook, Texas, Steve Gilbert of Frankfurt, Germany, and Krista Nethercott and husband, Cole of Jackson, Wyoming; nine great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters-in-law Geraldine Hickle of Mahomet, Illinois and Georgia Turner of Paxton, Illinois; and many friends.brbrPauline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; brothers Chester, George, Harold, Bart, Jr. Hickle; and sisters Marie Keene and Lucille Wilson.
