Pauline Strohl, 78, a lifelong resident of Hobbs, was called home to heaven on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, to be with her beloved son. She was born Jan. 3, 1930, in Oklahshy;oma.
Funeral services will be held Satushy;rday, May 31, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Chapshy;el of Hope Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. until service time on Saturday. Pastor Benny Greenlee will officiate.
She retired from the job she loved at the City Cab Company after 35 years. She was loved by many.
She enjoyed playing bingo and she loved animals and her family and life. She had a heart of gold and would give her last penny to someone in need.
She is survived by her dog, Coco; a daughter, Thelma Barber and son Eddie Strohl of Andrews, Texas; her sister, Alice Turner, and her chilshy;dren, Denise Cones, Roy Turner and Joe Turner; her grandchildren, Angela Nelson and husband Mike and chilshy;dren Tiffany and Tyler Schaaphok of Conway, Ark.; Tonya Phillips and her chilshy;dren, Darrel Shane and Austin Phillips; Christina and Steve Brown and children Reanne, Courtney and Autum Brown, Laura Turner and her chilshy;dren, Kristan, Danielle and Amanda Turner of Nashville, Tenn.; one grandson, Michael Strohl of Nobel, Okla.; and a niece, Diane Stofel and her husband, Eddie, of Andrews, Texas, and their daughter, Karla Stofel.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Winnie Roland; a son, Kenneth Strohl; two grandsons, Tommy Strohl and Darrell Phillips; two sisters, June Caldwell and Jonell McKenzie; a brother, Jack McMillan; and a great-grandshy;son, Edward Alex Phillips.
Pauline will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
