Paul Claunch passed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 14th, 2016. Paul was 80 years, 11 months, and 9 days old. Paul had given his heart to the Lord as a young man and left his testimony that he was ready to go.
Funeral services for Paul will be Monday, April 18, at Faith Assembly of God Church at 2:00 pm with Pastor Charles Sullivan officiating. Burial will be immediately after services at Prairie Haven Cemetery. Paul will be in state at Chapel of Hope on Sunday 1-5 pm with the family present from 3-5pm.
Paul was born to William Harvey Claunch and Grace Theresa Claunch in Mulberry, Kansas on May 5th, 1935. Paul's family moved to Hobbs, New Mexico in January 1945. Paul's father passed away in 1950. Paul started to work at the age of 16 at Meade's Bakery and then he went on to work at Watson Truck and Supply as a body shop painter, then working his way up to Executive Vice President until he retired in 1998 after 47 years of service.
Paul married Louise Claunch on August 4th, 1955. They had two sons, Randy Claunch and Ricky Claunch, along with one daughter, Sandra Claunch. Paul was blessed with two daughters-in-law, Renee Christopher Claunch and Suzanne Hardin Claunch. Renee and Ricky blessed Paul with two granddaughters, Amanda Claunch Hardie (Isaiah Hardie) and Kimberlee Claunch, and four great grandchildren, Amber, Shaley, Addison, and Samuel Hardie.
Louise Claunch passed away on August 14th, 1987. Paul married Emma Jean Hottell on April 15th, 1990, and together they worked in the Gideon ministry traveling the United States, Mexico and Chile giving the Gideon Report in churches and distributing bibles, while serving in various offices. Paul called Faith Assembly of God his church home.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; John, James, Harvey, and Kenneth, and two sisters Goldine Latta and Chrystal Edmonson.
Paul is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren, two sisters; Eunice Patterson and Fern Claunch, and one brother, Joseph Claunch, and his extended family and many friends.
