Paul Bliss

Paul D. Skip Bliss, 82, died February 18, 2012, with his family by his side.

A funeral service will be held at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church in Hobbs, New Mexico.
He was born March 8, 1929, in Hominy, Oklahoma. He was married to Dorothy in Ft. Morgan, Colorado in 1958 and they moved to Hobbs in 1966.

Paul Skip graduated high school in St. Elmo, Illinois in 1948, served his country in the USAF as a tail gunner on a B29 in the early 50s, and graduated from Oklahoma AM now OSU in Stillwater, OK with a petroleum engineer degree. He worked in the oil industry for Gulf Oil and DAS in Hobbs in the 70s and as an independent oil operator from 1980 to 2000.

Paul was a longtime member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church and a devoted member of Gideons International in Hobbs.

Paul committed his life to the service of the Lord and always provided tremendous love and support to his family. He also loved life, attending his childrens and grandchildrens sporting events, golfing and ice cream with his buddies, gardening, hunting and fishing.

Mr. Bliss is survived by his daughter, Paula White of Hobbs son, Brad Bliss and his wife Geraldine of Houston his grandchildren, Landon and Chandler White, and Charles and Nathan Bliss his brothers, Samuel Bliss and wife, Maggie of Florida, and Robert Bliss and wife, Sharon of Colorado and his sisterinlaw, Lou Bliss of Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Bliss, and his brother, Clyde Bliss of Oklahoma.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Bliss officiating.
