Paul Barker

Funeral services for Paul Barker, 86, of Hobbs, NM, will be held Monday, July 8, 2013, 11:00 am at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Pastor Elio Barrios officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. He was born on January 13, 1927, in OK, to Earl and Edna Barker. He died on July 3, 2013, in Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be Sunday, July 7, 2013, with family in attendance
from 2:00 pm 4:00 pm.

Paul married Merldene Dunn on January 11, 1947, in Shawnee, OK. He loved woodworking, was an excellent mechanic and loved cars. He enjoyed Nascar, Tony Stewart was his favorite driver. He retired from Amerada Hess after thirty seven years.

He is survived by two daughters, Paula Clark and husband Ron, of Lubbock, TX, and Barbara Brown, of Greenwood, TX a son, Jeff Barker and wife Paula Rae, of Hobbs, NM six granddaughters, Ronda Hendricks, of Lubbock, TX, Dena Cator and husband Loyd, of Perryton, TX, Keri Gassaway and husband Carey, of Lubbock, TX, Jennifer Dizmang and husband Wayne, of Greenwood, TX, Kristi Griffin and husband David, of Greenwood, and Kinsey Barker, of Midland, TX a brother, Roy Barker and wife Joan, of Oregon and a nephew, David Barker six grandchildren, fourteen greatgrandchildren and two greatgreatgrandchildren.

Paul is preceded in death by wife of fiftyfour years, Merldene his parents, Earl and Edna Barker a soninlaw, Mike Brown a greatgranddaughter, Chloee Hendricks and a great grandson Streeter Griffin.
