Patsy Brasher

January 10, 1935 — July 24, 2010

Pat Brasher went to be with the Lord, July 24, 2010, after a battle with cancer.

Patsy was born January 10, 1935, in Freestone County, Texas, to E.P. and Alma Hughes. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1953 and moved to New Mexico the day after to be with her family.

Pat married Bill Brasher in Roswell, New Mexico, on April 20, 1957, and moved to Hobbs in October of that same year. She and Bill have two daughters.

Pat worked for Lea County Good Samaritan Village as receptionist for twenty years before retiring in January, 2010. She loved her job and all of her friends. She loved her Lord most of all. She was also a volunteer with Lea Regional Hospitals Ladies Auxilary.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years two daughters, Charlotte and husband Tommy Carter of Tyler, Texas, and Sheila and husband Alan Houk of Midland, Texas four grandchildren, Jasen Carter of Edmond, Oklahoma, Justin Deke Carter of Katy, Texas, Tara Shaw and husband Jeremy of Midland, Texas, and Kaime Cerecero and husband Tyler of Midland, Texas three greatgrandchildren, Caiden and Aly Shaw and Kaylor Carter.

Pat was preceded in death by her brother, Eddie P. Hughes of Lamesa and niece, Marsha Willmore of Carlsbad.

The family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to VistaCare Hospice of Hobbs, 1515 Calle Sur, Hobbs, New Mexico 88240.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
