Patrick Hutchings

Patrick was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on May 28, 1971 to Charles and Patricia Hutchings and got his wings on January 1, 2022.  He was the oldest of two children.

Patrick inherited his love of sports from his parents.  He played basketball for Ralph Tasker during his four years of high school.  Patrick won many awards while playing basketball including being named High School Basketball Player of the Year.  He was also named to the National High School Boys Basketball All American in 1989.

Patrick graduated from Hobbs High School in 1989.  He attended college at University of North Texas and Eastern New Mexico University.  Patrick returned to coach and substitute teach at Hobbs High School.

Patrick always did things on his own terms after he was “grown”.  He traveled to many places, went to amusement parks and rode roller coasters.   He attended car shows, professional football games, and of course Laker’s games, his favorite team.  On many of his trips up and down the highway, he encountered kind people who provided him with assistance when needed.

He walked into heaven and reunited with C.J. Hutchings, his brother, Breyana Hutchings, his daughter, Papa Cornelius Hutchings, his grandfather, Uncle Roy Lee Ford, his uncle, Carolyn McBride, his cousin, and many other relatives.
