alignjustifyFuneral services for O.J. Bully Daricek of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Kirby officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, May I5, 2009, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with the family in attendance from 4-6 p.m. and on Saturday, May 16, 2009, from 8-9 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope.

alignjustifyWe have come to celebrate the life of O.J. Bully Daricek who began this fantastic journey of life on January 19, 1921, in Weatherford, Texas. Mr. Daricek moved to Hobbs in 1937 and married Virda Doris Grimes on December 20, 1938, in Seminole, Texas. She was the love of his life. They celebrated their 70th anniversary on December 20, 2008. He worked for Star Tool Co. as a hot shot driver. He retired from Star Tool Co. in 1985. He loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family. He got along with everyone he came in contact with. He loved to laugh and play jokes on everyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

alignjustifyHe is survived by his wife of the home, Virda D. Daricek; a son, John Franklin Daricek of Hobbs; a daughter Doris Daricek Naylor and husband Connell of Hobbs; a son, Benny Ray Daricek of San Angelo, Texas; a brother, Richard Daricek and wife Eleanor of Mt. Shasta, California; four sisters, Georgia Daricek Hewitt of Cedar Creek, Texas, Mary Daricek Kindle of Maple, Texas, Maggie Daricek Nelson and husband Ben of Seminole, Texas, and Carla Daricek Martin of Amarillo, Texas. He had 12 grandchildren: Jimmy Daricek and wife Tammy of Beaumont, California, John Daricek Jr. of Fremont, Caliornia., Becky Daricek of Red Bluff, California, Lynda Daricek of Red Bluff, California, Tina Kirby and husband Bruce of Raton, N.M., Shannon Naylor and wife Darcy of Midland, Texas, Thomas Pena and wife Jennifer of San Marcos, Texas, Dustin Naylor of Lubbock, Texas, Devon Darieck and wife Ki Yong of Peoria, Arizona, Dana Lakey and husband Todd of Peoria, Arizona; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

alignjustifyHe was preceded in death by his parents, Frank J. and Minnie E. Daricek; four brothers, Bob, Jessie, Benny Joe and Bill Daricek; a sister, Josephine Gee; and two great-grandchildren.

alignjustifyThe family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Star Hospice. Memorial contributions may be made to Star Hospice, 1601 N. Turner, Hobbs, NM 88240.

alignjustifyPallbearers will be Bobby Kirby, Thomas Pena, Damon Daricek, Shannon Naylor, Steve Miller and Gary Miller. Fat Grimes, Bobby Kersey, Tyler Miller and Devon Daricek will be honorary pallbearers.
